If I'm right, that punt return early in the Calgary/Hamilton game was the sixth punt or kickoff return taken back for a touchdown in the CFL this season. I believe I heard them say last night that there were a total of seven all last season.

Ya, that's amazing hey? Any ideas why the increase? Is it because of teams bringing in more athletic specialists, a decline in tackling fundamentals or just a blip. They tweaked the blocking rules two years ago to allow more side hits but that's been in place for a bit. Certainly this has created sudden scoring. A total of 49 points over 8 games, not to mention far better field position on many other possessions where there was a substantial return. In the Edmonton game both teams seemed content to bloop the kicks and settle for no return and possession at the 40-50.

I think it's just one of those strange anomalies that pop up every once in a while. That Owens kid in Toronto has been a lot of fun to watch. Apparently he's learned how to hold on the ball, which kept him out of the NFL.

given your post title asked for pun returns:

A thief broke into the local police station and stole all the toilets and urinals, leaving no clues. A spokesperson was quoted as saying, “We have absolutely nothing to go on.”
